Who I am?
My name is Brandy Seignemartin. I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor at Blue Chair Family Therapy. I approach the therapeutic alliance with empathy and understanding while I strive to provide my clients with an emotionally safe, inclusive, and affirming environment that promotes growth. I embrace an eclectic approach to therapy as I collaborate with clients using evidence-based interventions from models such as CBT, REBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I have a variety of trainings including EMDR trained, CNM Lv 1 (Consensual Non-Monogamy), Gottman Lv1 and Lv 2, and Trauma Focused-CBT. I support clients that are working through anxiety, interpersonal and intrapersonal stuck areas, relationship growth (including complex relationship dynamics, ENM, CNM or other) , emotional regulation/coregulation, low -self-esteem, behavior management, behavior changes, irrational thought patterns, and cognitive distortions. I am also a firm believer that preventative care is a form of self-care for all. I am passionate about working with LGBTGEQIAP+ and ENM/CNM communities. This includes providing inclusive affirming care and advocating for individuals and families within those communities.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from University of Maryland College. I went on to pursue my master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling. I had the privilege of training with a non-profit organization, Outreach Concern. At Outreach concern, I collaborated with clients, faculty, and caregivers to help remove social economic, family, and interpersonal barriers to achieve academic success and promote social-emotional wellbeing. Through my work, I have had the opportunity to work with children 3-12, adolescents 13-18, and adults.
In my free time I enjoy time with my family, playing roller derby, reading, and enjoying live music. I also love being outdoors, hiking, camping and enjoying nature.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach focuses on providing an inclusive and affirming environment that promotes growth and self-acceptance.
