Who I Am?

My name is Vanessa Alcoser. I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist. I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology from CSU Dominguez Hills in 2014. I earned my M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy at Touro University Worldwide in 2023. In my time as a therapist, I have had the privilege to work with adults and couples via telehealth for a non-profit organization. As a therapist, I believe that every person is unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. That’s why I work collaboratively with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs, goals, and preferences.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading or listening to audiobooks, crafting, watching horror movies, and shopping for Halloween décor no matter what month it is. I also go on early morning walks for exercise and attempt Pilates a few times per week.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe in fostering genuine connections and growth through an experiential, humanistic, and emotionally focused approach. I use interventions from models such as CBT, ACT, EFT, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Schema Therapy. My therapeutic style is rooted in validation, empathy, and creating a safe space where my clients can explore their thoughts and emotions and work through any challenges they may be facing.
